This was the first Hot Box being installed for the first time on my allotment. I've since put it on slabs to stop our furry friends trying to get in from beneath. I don't think they can but I don't want to risk it. I've now set it up with a piece of pond liner that takes the leachate into the gutter and thence into the bucket. This has become my best humanure composter to date and I mix food waste from the Tumbler into it and cover with fresh garden clippings. It has a snugly fitting lid and a base that is screwed on so rats cannot get in easily.
I get masses of worms.
