composting food waste

Inside-buksmall

With the right equipment anyone can compost all food waste - whether fresh peelings, cooked food, meat, fish dairy - anything. To compost food waste successfully you either use a fermentation system (Bokashi see picture above) or you have one of the other systems listed on the schools pages.

Just about any place that generates food waste, as long as it also has space to compost and use the resulting compost, can deal with it's kitchen or canteen's waste. You need to know how much stuff your kitchen is generating and then get the system appropriate for your scale of operation.

Then you are not wasting all that money on having it taken away to be disposed of.
