Please look at the Food waste pages in conjunction with this section - Its important to match as closely as possible the amounts of food waste being generated with the composting system as they are expensive items.
Scotspin with Scotty's Hot Box (flat packed) and assembled below
The community composting network has pioneered small scale food waste composting since the 1990's.
The Defra funded 'Compost Doctors' project enabled most of the commercially available food waste composters to be independentally trialled and new prototpes to be tested and developed. This has resulted in a few new commercially available composters new to the market.
The first to be develeloped and produced was the Scotty's Hot Box (click on side bar on right for page on this) - a collaboration between Nicky Scott at Proper Job in Devon and Steve Ross- Smith from Green Machine Solutions and the Worm Research Centre.
